system restore
I own a Dimension 4600 with Windows XP home office for 1 year. Recently, upon launching Internet Explorer, I've been getting several popup windows stating "Runtime Error". My Symantec/Norton anti-virus software indicates I may have a "Trojan Horse" & recommends I take several steps to remove. 1st step is to disable "system restore" which I can't seem to access any longer. I last used "system restore" about 2 months ago. Please help, thanks!

- perhaps if you get the virus out of your pc, you will be able to get the system restore back. system restore is located: right mouse button on my computer(in start menu) - preferences - system restore. i'd say shut it down because system restore doesn't do much except when your pc reboots at random time.

striper2,
Go to Start|Control Panel|System|System Restore tab. Check "Turn off system restore on all drives." Reboot.
