USB 2.0 Error message
Error Message:
"The unknown USB Device is a HI-SPEED device and will function at reduced speed when plugged into a non-HI-SPEED port." I have 6 USB ports on the back of my computer and 2 on the front. I understood that ALL of these were USB 2.0. I Have never had this problem in the past. I recently installed a USB 2.0 multi-card reader. Is it not true that ALL of them are USB 2.0? Why would I get this error than?

Pentium 4, 3.0Ghz, 800Mhz FSB
80GB Hard Drive
1GB DDRSDRAM
128MB ATI Radeon 9800 Video
Audigy 2 Sound card
Sony DRU-510A DVD-writer
Standard DVD-Rom
*New* 9-in-1 Multi-Card reader

What version of windows do you have installed on this system? If you have XP installed on this system do you have service pack 1 installed on the system to provide 2.0 support? What ports are you connecting to the front or the back.DELL-Donald K

Are you connecting multiple USB 2.0 devices?? If they are not powered, then you may be drawing too much power from the USB Bus. If so, a powered USB 2.0 hub may help.

Windows XP Pro SP1 (ALL updates)
I am connecting the 9-in-1 Multi-card reader to a port on the back, next to the Integrated network.
Again, I have never had this problem before with any of my other products (maby cause not all of them are USB 2.0)
But I thought ALL the ports on my computer where USB 2.0, is this not true? (are 2 or 3 of them the standard 1.1 USB?)
