XPS 8000 second hard drive
Hi guys~
I'm considering adding a second hard drive to my PC, for storing all my videos.
This is the first time I'm adding a hard drive to a PC :emotion-10:.
My first question is, and this might be a stupid one, can my 350W power supply handle an extra HD?
(FYI, I'm not sure if you need the info, but my system has the following installed: a 1.5TB HD, a Blu-ray Combo, and Nvidia GTS 240 video card)
As you may already know, the XPS 8000 is a pretty quiet machine:emotion-1:
I'm a bit worried that by adding a new HD, it would make the PC noisy (I live in a really quiet area, so any noise will be noticeable).
I'm not saying that I want something that's completely silent.
But I hope I could find something that has a fairly low noise level with a decent transfer rate.
Do you have any recommendations?

But just another question, hope you don't mind...
Do you know if the XPS 8000's motherboard (Intel P55 Express) supports SATA cables with latch connectors?
I tried to Google the answer... but couldn't come up with one that clearly states it supports the feature.

Yes, you can use SATA data cables with the latch without any problems.

There is no need to upgrade the default 350w power supply for a second SATA hard drive.
Check out the Western Digital Caviar Green line of SATA hard drives.
