Alienware Battery Problems
I went to Dell.com. run the diagnostics test, and everything is working fine. However, the battery is not charging. I do not know if it is a problem of the battery or the A/C adapter. When I bought the laptop, I did not know or check that the battery in these type of laptops is a bit complicated to change. I appreciate if someone knows what to do about this. The only thing that I have not tried is to take the battery out because it is complicated. Next time before buying a laptop I will check how easy is to replace a battery, Hopefully, somebody can help me resolve the issue

Usually on the first BIOS page is a setting for the AC adapter -- it should not show "unknown".
If the adapter shows unknown, the battery will not charge. If that's the case, try a new adapter first - if that doesn't solve the issue, replace the DC jack next:
www.parts-people.com/index.php
If that doesn't get the adapter recognized, replace the mainboard.
If the adapter IS recognized, but the battery won't charge (check with the system powered off to rule out a Windows issue), then the problem is just about certainly with the battery.

Is the AC adapter power rating (i.e., 130W, etc.) showing in system setup (F2 at powerup) or is the adapter showing unknown?
If you need further assistance, reply with that information - and the exact Alienware model number (i.e., Alienware 13 R1, etc.).
