Appearance problem.. need some help

I don't know what I did, but for example my task trays with icons on lower left and lower right on my screen now has a GRAY background instead of the WHITE background I liked better. Also my desktop icons are so much SMALLER than they used to be. Can someone be of help-Thanks in advance

I have an Inspiron 9300 and my  current resolution is 1280 x 1024 pixels. My dpi is 120. I have the 17" TrueLife screen and things seem a bit pixelated and different

have you tried going into your control panel then proceeding into the "taskbar and start menu" from there select "start menu" rfom the top menu then click on the button that says "customize" and there you can change the appearance of the icons from large to small

    mav,

you might have been playing with the Dell Quickset utility in your system tray. It provides a shortcut to changing display settings like font and icon sizes, as opposed to going to the control panel/display settings or right-clicking the desktop and getting to the display settings that way.

windows and internet explorer are way behind on dealing with high resolution screens that dell likes to sell.

try messing playing with the display properties advanced settings or quickset, and you should be able to correct your problem.

also, look at the different windows themes under the Appearance tab of the display settings to change the color of the system tray.

    good luck!
