Hi I have a laptop DELL Vostro 1500 it says that the battery is not detected, what should i do to pix this problem?

Thank you for writing to Dell Community Forum.
Please boot into the BIOS and check what the battery status and adapter type says.
Can we check with an alternate battery or this battery on another system?
Does the light on the adapter stays on when plugged into the system?
Is the BIOS updated to the latest version?
