Bios Password
I went to a Garage Sell a week ago, An old couple was selling a Dell Inspirion 7000. Originally he was selling it for $300, since it had no paperwork or manuals I dropped it to $150....It booted up fine and was working. When I went home I noticed that some of the drivers were not installed. So I decided to do a restore...I could not get into the Bios to change the boot sequence. I called the man to get a password, but they had moved out and left the state. Is there anyway I can get clearence or reset the bios...especially if I have no proof of ownership, except the fact that I have the laptop and cannot do anything with it. Please let me know what I can do..if not I guess I just lost out on $150 dollars.
- Yeah and the part about "They moved out of town". Which I guess could happen. I don't know about anyone else but whenever I buy a PC the first thing I do is go into the BIOS. About the only time I didn't do that was with my i8200 when I first got it, first powered it on, but once I had run through all the setup stuff I rebooted and went into the BIOS.
