First, you need to make sure that it is not you. Many people end up with their thumb hovering over the touchpad and brush it occasionally, which causes the cursor to jump. If it only jumps when you are typing, this might be the cause.
To test, hook up a mouse, and disable the touchpad in the bios. If that cures the problem, then it is your own thumb.
If not, start by reinstalling the drivers.
