Dell Inspiron 1501 Problem
have a problem with my Dell Inspiron 1501. Everytime I play a game like Civilization IV or World of Warcraft or any emulater my computer completely shuts itself down and I have to wait a few minutes before I can turn it back on. I do not have any idea what this problem can be since I downloaded SpeedFan and my computer was not overheating. I have never spilled anything on it either.
What could it be?

I have 894 MB of RAM and I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate
With that little RAM, Vista is doing a heck of a lot of swapping to disc, which is probably contributing to the problem in large measure. You can try maxing out the RAM, but as the other post indicated, this is not a gaming notebook - it's an economy model. And just as you'll have trouble trying to tow a large trailer with a Hyundai Accent, you're seeing issues doing things with the system that it simply isn't designed to do.

But these games have worked before, I don't understand why it would just stop out of nowhere.

Your computer is not a gaming laptop. It has an integrated graphics card and that is your bottleneck. More ram may help but not likely. Blow out the vents with an air cannister to remove any dust that may have built up. How much RAM do you have and what OS are you running.
