Dell Vostro Drivers, Which Drivers!!?
Hi All,
i have a Dell Vostro Laptop that i needed to format. after formating i went to the dell website and input my service tag, the wifi drivers list that came back had 9 different drivers, how am i supposed to tell which one is for my laptop?
I installed them all and one of them worked, it is recognised as a Intel Centrino wireless N1030. driver version 14.1.1.3. problem is when i try and use it on my 100meg line i get just 2meg speeds, i plug it in via ethernet and i get full 100 meg speeds.
Before the format I was getting about 30-50 meg on the wireless. I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. When i run the system scanner my vostro is recognised as a
Vostro V131
Service Tag:<ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>
Hope someone can help.

If your notebook did ship with the Intel wireless N 1030 driver it looks like you do have the right version of the wifi driver.
When installing drivers did you install the chipset driver
www.dell.com/.../DriverFileFormats
and the Dell Notebook System Software utility
www.dell.com/.../DriverFileFormats
If not give them a try and see if it helps.
If you decide to reimage the drive in the future, this may help with reimaging and what drivers to install and the order that they should be installed.

You are correct though, without looking at your system inventory it can be tricky knowing what drivers to install.
