Headphone Jack Input Prompt
Hello All,
My girlfriend recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 13 7000 Series.
Recently updated all drivers from audio to BIOS on the Dell website using their auto-detect tool and proceeding with their on screen system.
Every time she plugs in her headphones to listen to Netflix or what-have-you quietly she is required to minimize all her programa to get to the empty desktop where there is usually a little pop-up box prompting what "device" has just been inputted to the headphone jack. Selections include:
Skull candy headphones, headphones, stereo head phones, external speakers, headset, etc... or something of that ilk.
Is there a way to bypass requiring to do this every single time she wants to use her headphones (x) when x>once per day?
A bit of a nuisance...
Great laptop once we clean reinstalled windows 10 (twice!), updated all drivers from Dell and configured specifications. 2-in-1 i5 4gb Ram, pretty splendid machine for what she needs it for, black friday sale for like <$500 pre-tax in California.

Hello. Unfortunately the headphone jack software is not well implemented in the new Dell laptops. Try switching to the Windows native audio driver and see if it works better.
1. Open the Device Manager (find it in the Control Panel, or type devmgmt.msc into the search box).
2. Expand the "Sound, video & game controllers" and right click on "Realtek High Definition Audio".
3. Select to "Update Driver Software".
4. Click on "Browse my computer for driver software".
5. Click "Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer".
6. Put a check in the box "Show compatible hardware" if not already checked.
7. In the list of devices, click "High Definition Audio" (the native driver).
8. Click "Next".
9. On the Update Driver Warning box, click "Yes" (install the driver).
10. Restart the laptop if prompted. If not prompted, then no need to restart.
[To get back to the Realtek driver, do it again but reverse the names in steps 2 and 7.]
