Inspiron 4000 port replicator problem

Suddenly, after well over a year, I am unable to power up using port replicator with my Inspiron 4000.  Also unable to power up using power cord alone.  Can only run on battery!  I have tried unplugging, re-plugging.  Any suggestions?

    Sloan,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
So the system will only power up on battery?
Are you using the same AC adapter when you are docked or undocked?
Do you have another AC adapter you can try?
If you remove the battery from the system, does the AC adapter work then?
Does the AC adapter work with another system?

MAybe  you have an issue with the "charger board" or the Dock connection on the mobo.

Worse case scenario call Tech support and have parts replaced.

Using same power adapter when docked and undocked.  Tried another adapter and still have same problem.  Tried to power up with battery removed and adapter in & still no luck.  Adapter seems fine - steady green light at all times.
