inspiron 5160 bately question

hi

my new 5160 s battely can only use for 2 hours(when it is 100%, i open the pc, and he say : 2:00hours reminning), that s normal?

it seems to be the case with the newer 5160s (see my previous thread 5150 vs 5160 current drain).

the fan's have been redesigned to run at much higher rpm to cool the CPU comsuming more power, also the CPU draws extra voltage that those in the 5150.

you will be lucky to get more than 2:30 hr from a 5160 with a 12 cell battery

we have replaced the motherboards on some early production 5160s and noticed some improvement, but have had to move back to latitudes for our sales force because of the power drain in 5160s, until now we used 5150s

I usually get close to 3 hours on my 5160 if I don't do anything really video intensive, just light web surfing and spreadsheets and stuff like that. That is on the portable laptop power setting
