Inspiron 9100's screen is extremely dim
Hello, I have a 9100 and this morning as I booted up, my screen was extremely dim. As it boots, it will show the Dell logo fine for a few seconds, then it turns to VERY dim. I can still see the logon and icons/desktop when I put a flashlight up to the screen. Hard drives seem to be ok as well as I can remote in with my other pc. When I connect a monitor to the laptop, the video comes up fine and has all day with no problems...but only on the monitor.
Since I'm not under warranty anymore, should I take the laptop apart to clean and reseat everything? What do you guys think?

- easier said than done my friend. I haven't been able to find one in the Orlando area for a month now. The problem is much worse now only because it will only work 10% of the time if I'm lucky.I have the 128mb ATI video card and have since purchased an Samsung LCD, but the picture seems to be weak. The refresh rate will only go to 60mhz. It is very workable, but the picture just isn't like it's supposed to be on the monitor. It's hard to explain I guess. It's kinda like the picture is going out and coming in, in a rippling effect...but is steady. I can tell is definitely because I am using the laptop's video. Is there a way to stop "sharing" with the laptop's video? Although the screen on the laptop is dim, the video is still on so I'm thinking the video card is working double time.I turn on the laptop, then shut the case. Does anyone have the same issue? I am using a Samsung Sync Master 906bw.
