Inspiron 9200 and Dell high resolution screen problems
The Inspiron 8600 and related computers have that awful compromise to support Dell's high resolution screens where Dell tweaks IE to increase font size, but it causes images to appear blurry. Undoing the tweak, or switching to Firefox, simply makes fonts unreadably small. Does the Insprion 9200 17" screen resolve this problem, even with the "ultra" hi-res screen option? Is the tweak not used in this computer line?

Its NOT a problem with the screen! Thats my point. Its a problem with the expectation that an LCD will look good with nonoptimal font sizes.
NO LCD SCREEN ON THE MARKET, NO MATTER THE RESOLUTION OR MAKER, WILL LOOK GOOD WITH THE SETTINGS DELL PUTS ON THERE. You can either buy a highres screen and accept that things will be smaller but clear, or buy a low res screen and get bigger things clear.
Its a fact about LCD screens.- Yeah, I know what you're saying. I'm talking more about the probelm where Dell tweaks the registry settings to make the fonts larger and more readable on high res screens, but in a way that makes images in IE appear fuzzy. There are several posts about this problem here. Does Dell do that tweak with the larger screen on the 9200? They told me no by telephone, and that this model is designed to resolve this issue, but I take what hear on the phone with a serious grain of salt ...
