You must have the NumLock on in order for the keypad to be active. If it will still function using the Fn key but not with NumLock, reboot and press F2 to access the BIOS, and toggle the keypad/numlock setting.

I have an Insprion 8000 that the hard driive crashed. After replacing the hard drive my keypad will not work with the number lock or FN key. I have plug in my external keyboard and it will not work with that ether. The number keys work on the top of the keyboard but not on the keypad.
