laptop not working properly

Everytime I go on a programme, whether it is Microsoft office or my internet provider, (AOL) I get a message that comes up, 'Programme Not Responding' and sometimes I have to shut down and start again, what could this be and why is my Dell inspiron 6400 doing this my operating system is Windows Vista.

My system seems somewhat slow too, and then when programme Not Responding comes up I'm almost ready to throw it out of the window!

    Hi Shaun9910099,

    Welcome to the Community. I suspect a Virus on your computer. I suggest you run a virus scan to check for viruses. There are many 3rd party software's that you could download free of the Internet, like malwarebytes, superantispyware, ccleaner. Download them and run a scan, it will also help you remove them for you.
