M1330 does not sit flat

I just got a new XPS M1330 on thursday, was using it yesterday and noticed that it does not sit flat when it is on a desk. Coule the whole case be warped? Has anyone else experienced this problem? What was done to resolve it?

I called XPS technical support who forwarded me to customer care (apparently EPP) where I was hung up on. I called that number that was given to me by the XPS tech guys, the EPP cust. care forwarded me to inspiron tehcnical support, who forwarded me to the home customer care, who forwarded me to a DELL operator, who forwarded me to the "technicians" before I could not wait on the line any longer (going on 2 hours). I will have to call back later, but I'm hoping that trying to resolve this issue is not going to be the enormous hassle it has been up to this point.

Thanks for any help/replies.

My general observation: worth checking several things first:

    1. Are any rubber feet present / missing on the base of the system?

    2. Are you sure the surface you're using is flat

With these two checked then it would seem like some problem with the housing/case of the machine.

Hey roger1984, thanks for the reply.  Yes I had already checked to be sure all the rubber feet are present. And I have put it on several different desks and tables and the laptop is still wobbly on all of them (I was also hoping that the surface I first noticed this on was uneven). I am even able to slide most of the booklet (DELL new product advertisements) that came in the box with the laptop under the same corner on each surface with no interference. Unfortunately it is definitely the laptop, not the surface.

Call Dell, explain the problem, tell them you heard that replacing the bottom plastics or the palmrest fixes this issue. Ask them if they can check with someone and verify if that's the case. Ask if they can set up a service call for you so your system can be repaired.

There was a while where new m1330 systems, for whatever reason, weren't sitting level on flat surfaces. I can't recall which part it was that fixed it, but the palmrest and/or bottom plastics were what was getting replaced last I heard, and that apparently worked.

prandio, thanks. i guess it is good to hear that i'm not the only one with this problem, but that is terrible that they are shipping wobbly laptops. anyway, i waited until today to call and I have to send it out to have a piece replaced so it is level. they wouldn't say what piece though.
