Mouse Not Working Properly THrough Docking Station

I have an Inspiron 8200 and a docking station.  I am plugging the wireless receiver for a Logitech Freedom Optical Keyboard/Mouse set via both PS2 ports.

My keyboard works fine and the software 'realizes' that it is attached, so I can use all of the special function buttons.

My mouse (and just a plain MS Wheel Mouse I tried) when plugged through the docking station, do not function properly.  The mouse works, but non of the 'extras' work (such as the wheel, wheel button, and thumb button)  The mouse is not detected under hardware in the Mouse Properties, just the ALPS is detected.

It works fine, if I plug into the laptop directly, as opposed to the dock.

Thanks

Have you installed the external mouse software?

    Manu Narayan,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

If your external mouse requires additional drivers, I would suspect that these drivers are conflicting with those for the touch-pad.  You should remove the drivers for both pointing devices and then reinstall those for the pointing device that you wish to use.
