I installed (R226903) and only the left speaker would have sound and not the best sound, is there a audio driver for my system with win7 u on it that both speakers will work

Hello. If you are getting sound through only one speaker b ut if you get sound through both channels when you plug in headphones, then it is probably a hardware failure.

Anyway, the IDT audio driver R226903 is a Windows 7 driver that works with the XPS M1330. First remove the Sigmatel drivers. Open the Device Manager and expand the Sounds controllers section. Right click on the Sigmatel and select to uninstall. Put a check mark in the option to delete the files, and then ok. When you reboot, Windows will either install its own native driver or another Sigmatel driver if there were any other versions on the hard drive. So go back to the Device Manager and check for a Sigmatel driver again. Keep uninstalling & rebooting until Sigmatel no longer appears under sound controllers. The name of the native driver will appear as "High Definition Audio Device".


If the speaker also doesn't work at this point with the native driver, then most likely hardware failure. You can go ahead and install the IDT R226903 right over the native driver.
