Nvidia Fatally flawed?
I'm many of us have searched the entire net for real answers to dead computers and the flurry of new motherboards needed to keep our machines running. What is the general census on the Nvidia problems
that keep popping up on many sites (news, blogs, utube, and many other international sites, yay Google translator) Some foreign sites have better details but all really say the same thing, the 8400's and 8600's
are flawed because of power and temperature designs. (They say that all may not fail, it has to do with how many cycles of hot/cold to cold/hot because of the thermal expansion coefficients)
Usually I wouldn't buy into many internet sources but it seems it's comming from so many different unrelated sources from educated/experienced to angry/consumer something must be up. Since the GPU's are built onto the motherboards to save space the whole thing must be replaced. The general symptoms are vertical lines on the screen, repeated blue screens of failure, and display lightings. Usually following these problems is just a black screen.
Since I'm on my 3RD!!!! motherboard, there must be something wrong.

But from what I've heard, they have not replaced the boards with different cards but only new ones with the same flaw. It took mine 8 months to fail, there is a good chance that the 1 year warranty isn't enough. The problem with the boards was with the design, not a specific number of them. (meaning they all have a short life)
If they are using different cards, I can't seem to find the information on them or if they are in fact any different.

That extended warranty is a great idea, if you notice on that board below it there are 3-4 M1210 users who are mentioning issues with their video cards, which are Nvidia and one fellow has already had two boards replaced. I am in the exact same boat, on my second motherboard and it too is going bad already and the second one is only in the unit for two months now. It will most likely be dead within weeks, as it is doing the very thing prior to dying that the original did.
Dell...are you listening to any of of? The XPS M1210, with the Go 7400 is faulty and it is fairly widespread. Shoot I found several posting on this board that have recent posts regading this very issue, and was surprised how many others were having similar video card malfunctions.

Dell has extended the warranty for certain systems that have the NVidia GPUs by a year.
