Problems with Dell Wireless 1350 mini PCI
Hi all,
I'm having trouble with the Dell Wireless 1350 mini PCI, the problem is that its too slow. I have a PCMCI 1350 model and it performs 100times faster than the one that it install inside my laptop. I have the latest drivers install from dell and all the windows security and updates.
Has anyone experienced this problem before??
I have a Linksys WRT54G on my home work. Also i have tried switching channels on the router and still the same slow performance on this machine. Others pc on my wireless network work at blazing speeds :smileysad:
Can anyone help?
System Config.
Inspiron 2200
Intel Celeron m1.4 ghz
786mbs DDR Ram
30gb HD
DVD/ CD-RW Drive
14 inch screen.

- I am not aware of what the Dell 1350 is but is it wireless G? I suppose this may not be a real good wireless card as it seems I have seen other post on this as a problem. Maybe you would be better off disabling that Dell card and going to get a Linksys-G with speedboost. I know I am not much help but I think you have other options to include wireless G and other wireless cards rather than just wireless G. Might not make any difference though.

dbramlet ,Thats right... The router is set to wireless G only. All my other pcs on my wireless network work at blazing speeds, sharing files, copying large files but when i do it here is so slow. I have a 2.5mb cable connection, downloading the 4mb pic at another pc it does it in seconds and the download rate goes all the way to 240kb/s + but when i do it on the laptop is not, i get redicolous speeds of 5kb/s or 8kb/s. :smileyindifferent:dallascowboyswo

Buy a Linksys pcmcia card with speed booster will not work. The router he has is not a speedbooster router. Did you try reloading the drivers from the ones on dells website?

Well i have the lastest drivers install from dell.
All others pc on my wireless network work at blazin speeds with no itch or sweat
