Question about Backlit Keyboards
Hello from a Newbie,
I'm planning to buy my first laptop, a Dell with a backlit keyboard, but no stores in the area have any to look at. So, before I order online, I have a general question about Dell backlit keyboards.
Does the backlighting merely highlight the LOCATION of the keys, or does it let you actually READ the label on the keys?
For example with the "Ctrl" key: does the backlighting just help you FIND the key on the left side of the bottom row, OR can you actually READ the key label "Ctrl"?
For the "Fn" key combinations that I probably won't be using too often, I'm sure I'll have to look at the keyboard. That's why I'm trying to find out if the actual key labels can be read (especially the blue ones) with the backlit on.
Thanks for any help. I'm sure I'll have a bunch of questions after I finally make up my mind and buy one. :emotion-1:

I was looking at a picture of a Vostro 3500 keyboard on the Dell website. It looks like the "Fn" key has blue printing, and the other keys that are used in combination with the Fn key also are color-coded with blue printing.
Now I have to decide which model to buy. It will probably be a Studio or Vostro. I'm leaning towards the Vostro because it has an anti-glare LCD. I know that most new laptops are glossy, but my desktop monitor has a great matte finish that I really like.

You can read the labels on the keys. Since I had backlit keyboard, I would not have any other. It works very well, you can type without any extermal light.
I do not know what you mean by blue keys. I have none.
