I'm having the same problem that the DSUpdate program reports abnormal termination error.

The link provided above only leads to the dell homepage, and a search from there does not provide a product to download.

I would request you to uninstall from programs and features. Then reinstall the software and see if it makes any difference. Else try to update the software by following these steps

1) Launch Windows explorer.
2) Navigate to - "C:\program files\Dell Datasafe local backup\components\dsupdate\dsupdate.exe"
3) Double click dsupdate.exe to manually update the application

I've already attempted that and it resulted in the same error.
