Upgrade memory

I have been looking for ram to upgrade my Inspiron 3800 laptop, however most of the sites I go to subdivide the memory for the Inspiron into different versions. I looked at system information and determined that my laptop is an Inspiron 3800 C500GT, but I cannot find memory for that model. I found this website: http://www.dellmemoryram.com/dell_inspiron_laptop_memory.html and my laptop is not listed at all. The only computer I can find with C500GT is the Inspiron 3700 after doing a search of the web and that isn't listed on the website previously mentioned either. Is system information providing incorrect info? If not, what program can I download that will identify my computer's information correctly. If it is identifying it correct, where can I get ram that will work for it.

Go to Crucial, download their System Scan Tool and run it.  That will show you exactly what memory you need and what they have.  From what I can tell your system uses PC133 SoDimms in either 128 or 256 meg sizes.  Your system can take a maximum of 512 megs between the two slots.  Crucial has both on their site and is the memory brand of choice for Dell Laptops due to it's guaranteed compatibilty and lifetime warranty.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try.
