USB Problem

I believe I am at my wits end.

This past weekend, I allowed someone to add a couple programs onto my computer (Norton for example) and change the windows to professional to be compatable with the network at home. When I returned to my dorm (yes I'm a college student), plugged in my computer, and plugged in my printer and mouse (both USB) they both would not work. They did before the weekend.

I have no idea what she has changed or ruined for this to happen. I have trided restarting a few times, reinstalling, checked the config of the root hubs, and forced them to redirect like your website had in an article on troubleshooting. I checked BIOS for anything unusual or that would fit, and the touchpad/mouse setting is so that if the mouse is connected it should work first before the touchpad (if only it was recognized!!). Someone suggested updating drivers, so yep, I did that...

I dont know what else to do. I cant even do go back or system restore because there is no point available before this weekend.

Help.
Remind me to never let someone "fix" my computer.
