Video card temps

My video card (8600GT) is steady arround 60C under no load, is this normal?

    If you do some more searching, you'll find a huge number of problems with the 8600 and 8400 cards.  Dell issued an extended warranty on them because there rate of failure due to heat and poor choice of materials is huge.  I've had 3 boards replaced already due to this problem

    Same here !

     

    As soon as I turn the machine on, "8600GT is steady arround 60C under no load" !

     

    I don't dare to play a game! I might burn out the darn gpu !

    Graphics cards always run a lot hotter than CPU's, so idling at 60°c is honestly nothing to be unduly concerned about... and it's certainly nothing like a temperature which should stop you playing games ;)
