Happy Thanksgiving!

 

We have one of the weirdest things I have ever seen on our president's Latitude C840.  Out of the blue one day (two weeks ago) he was watching an instruction video on his laptop.  All was fine.  every night he unplugs the laptop from the office network and takes it home to work there.  While NOT connected to the network, his mouse is sluggish and his video (local file) runs choppy.  I could not believe it and did not want to but he proved it to me.

 

We watched the same video on and off the network cable and it is choppy as a stand-alone and the mouse works like garbage, almost like there is a ton of applications swallowing the RAM.  Plug it into the network, all is fine.  We recently installed a new hard drive, fresh install of Windows 2000 Pro SP4, fresh Gig of RAM, Dell hardware Diagnostics say that everything is fine.

 

Any suggestions???
