i had made a post just before this the answer to it seems to be yes. i went for the xps m170 for about £2000 to £3000 had the mobo replaced 2 times now and the powerjack has gone an its out side warranty its only 2 years old and i would have to pay for the fix.

2 years and needs 3 motherboards 1 witch i would have to pay for at that price well its a crime

yet i have even got 7/8 ppl to buy dells for them as i liked them or did

so basically that means, i think. that's means they know about its bad design and don't want to pay to fix it. im sure they can be broke by miss use.

but i have never used my laptop as a portable stays on a table in my room. and because the mobo was replaced 2 times it means...... it has broken in about 6 months but out of warranty because it was brought before then just the motherboard is younger

other brand laptops cost £300 to £800 i have lasted me 5/6 years at a time with out these problems.

sorry,my fault,i thought the battery and adapter were 1 year warranty.

sok, but you are right about the battery, 1 year from manufacturing date. No matter how long you computer Warranty is.

well ive just talked to dell support, i have a 2 year warranty and im 18 months into it and they refuse to replace the adapter as its mechanical damage?? the wire on both ends are basically worn and showing the internal wires.
