Thanks Chris. I actually did read your message. My 2007WFP is coming tomorrow, but I did see you wrote in your note, "If you have the banding issue,". Your wording suggests that some might NOT have the issue. This is why I asked. I'll be sure to hook it up and see what I find. I have not seen any visual example of what "banding" even looks like so I am not sure how I will notice it.
I did not know what banding was either until I was shown an example, now I cant even watch a DVD or play a game because it is sooo annoying, banding makes things look very blocky and 8bit'ish, completely unacceptable for a monitor at this price. Im glad DELL is fixing them soon
what I did was to compare these pics on LCD and on CRT monitor.
For example gray[12].png will show some color pattern on lcd with
banding issue, while on crt and non issue lcd, they are pure b&w...
OK I will check it out when my 2007WFP comes in. I ordered it because of the $100 off they were offering. I'll be interested to see what "banding" looks like.
Chris, I followed the instructions and sent you a private message to get my new monitor replaced. I'm wondering what to expect now. I haven't received any emails or private messages confirming that my request was received - not sure if that would be automated or not.
Is there a way to find out the status of the return? Also, how long can we expect the substitution process to take?
