Drastic 3007 backlight bleeding

I have a Dell 3007 that is starting to have drastic backlight issues at the top right.  In a very large spot the screen is much brighter than the rest of the image.

I am curious if it is possible to return the monitor and get the 2407 instead (which appears to have fewer issues).  Whatever amount is left over (the difference of what I got the 3007 for vs the 2407) could be applied as some sort of credit?

Any information on this would be great!

Thanks,

John Bryant

I called for customer support and the guy from Dell is thinking it's my computer that's causing the problem???  I don't think he understands what backlight bleeding is (and on my 3007 it's quite a large spot on the monitor).

    Ulrick28,

Do the backlight issues at the top right show if you do this? With the 3007 powered on, disconnect the DVI cable from the rear of the PC. The Monitor will display full screen in White, Black, Red, Green and Blue color rolling pattern on screen if the DVI cable is not connected. This self test pattern will be displayed continually when Monitor detects that DVI cable from Monitor to PC is not connected.

Having done that, on the black screen it looks like a curtain across the top of my monitor.  There is light alternating with dark sections.
