Go to SolutionU2720Q, daisy chain two with MacBook Pro?
Hello,
I tried to Daisy chain two U2720Q monitors : TB3 -> Macbook Pro -> Monitor -> DP -> Monitor but it didn't work, the only way I got it to work is by using two TB3 with the Macbook Pro, Can I daisy chain the Monitors with only one TB3 port ?

The U2720Q does not have a DP out port. So a DP/MST daisy chain is not possible. The U2720Q has the following video in ports = HDMI, DP, USB Type-C/DisplayPort

@DELL-Chris M So the only way to connect two monitor by using two TB3 cables from the Macbook pro to the monitors ?
Will the Dell thunderbolt dock do the trick; one cable from the mac to two different monitors ?

@salahy Quick update on my earlier reply. I'm not sure why I thought you mentioned a CalDigit dock here. Must have been thinking of another thread. Anyway, yes a Dell Thunderbolt dock would work, but I wouldn't recommend them with Apple products. Dell spells out some limitations with that setup here, but a big one is that you can't update the firmware on that dock from a Mac. CalDigit is a popular dock option for Mac users.

@salahy Thanks for reporting back. Happy to help and glad you found a solution you’re pretty happy with. In terms of problems, if you haven’t already, reach out to CalDigit Support. From what I’ve heard from friends of mine, they’re knowledgeable and helpful, so they may be able to resolve the issues you’re dealing with. And if not, they may get some info from you that leads to a firmware update that resolves the issue shortly afterward.

Hello, Its working just fine, You just need to get theCalDigit TS3 and you will get all the ports you need

@salahy Even if you had a display that supported daisy chaining, macOS itself doesn't support daisy chaining. This has been the subject of multiple complaints on Apple's forums, here, and elsewhere on the Internet for years. Ironically if you install Boot Camp onto a Mac, daisy chaining works while you're running Windows on your Mac. So it's a macOS limitation, not a hardware limitation.
If you have a CalDigit TS3+ dock, you can connect two displays by using the DP output for one and the USB-C output for the second. If you don't have a display with a USB-C input, use a USB-C to DP cable or USB-C to HDMI cable.
