Help on ndmp restore

HI,

Found one strange thing with nsrndmp_recover.

I started the nwrecover session with NetWorker 7.4.4 for restore of NDMP data of 100 MB, to /export/restore from the server itself. It did properly,

42689:nsrndmp_recover: Performing DAR Recovery..
42937:nsrdsa_recover: Performing Immediate recover
42940:nsrdsa_recover: Reading Data...
42617:nsrndmp_recover: NDMP Service Log: RESTORE:
2009 : We have read 2514550 KB from the backup.
The operation took around 5 hrs just for 100 MB restore and finally,
42942:nsrdsa_recover: Reading data...DONE.
42927:nsrndmp_recover: Successfully done
recover command completed successfully

but when i go and see the restore destination location, nothing able to see....

What could be the problem and how to improve the speed in restore

Thanks a million

Its a while since I've done a restore with NDMP but I think it might be you have not specified a valid path for your restore.

I always found it quicker to use the command line for NDMP restores but that isn't going to change the speed data is recovered from the tape - is this going at a slow speed?

    Hi David

Thanks for the hint. If we put the destination location as the NDMP client itself, then the data restoration is possible....

    But,

What are the effective methods (faster method) of data restoration in NDMP. I used to invoke networker gui from the Server and then do the data restore.

    please give your inputs

    regards
