Do I need to install more than just lgtoclnt on a linux box that I want to backup?? I ran the install according to the documentation, and if I ps ef | grep nsr it says nsrexcd is running, but can't seem to find where to configure it at. Linux newbie here, sure it's something I'm missing. Basically just need to tell it where the Networker Server is.
lgtoclnt is the only rpm you need to install. Just make sure that the client can lookup the backup server by name and vice versa. This might require entries in the host files as mentioned earlier. You may also want to make a entry in the /nsr/res/servers file of the backup server name. This is not mandatory. Just a good practice if you have multiple NW servers. The rest of the config, as metioned earlier, would be on the backup server itself.
To tell where the Networker Server is, you would need to edit the etc/hosts file on the client. You would also need to add any storage nodes. Make sure you also add any aliases for the server. Hope this helps!
