Is wood5 the backup server also? Check the /nsr/res/servers file on the client to see if the backup server is listed there. IF not, update and restart Remote Execution service. Ensure that stageccr is configured as a client on the backup server and start the NME executable from command line with the option -s backupserver and see if it opens now.
You should create a client for your virtual node and to backup the Exchange database. For the backup command use nsrxchsv -c virtual_node_name. You can create clients for your active and passive nodes just to backup their local drives and/or SYSTEM save sets for disaster recovery but not for Exchange database.
Pls note that NME will only work on the Active node in an Exchange CCR environment. For the Passive node you would need NMM, as the only backup mechanism that Microsoft supports in that environment is VSS.
