Is the NetWorker Module for Microsoft Exchange Server properly enabled (see registrations)? Maybe one of your keys expired? We got this message when enough licenses where available. Perhaps nsr\applogs\xbsa.messages on the client side may give you further details.
We have a similar issue since a few days. I found this entry in the xbsa.messages file on the active cluster node:
XBSA-1.0.1 LNMs_2004.Build.148 8668 Wed Jul 04 00:01:33 2007 _nwbsa_close_create_object_session: BSA_RC_ABORT_SYSTEM_ERROR System detected error due to savefile_fini() failure, typically caused by bad network hardware (NICs, routers, etc). Operation aborted
It makes no sense to me because the network seems to work properly ...
Verify if something has changed. Nic config, nic drivers, windows update. Also look for this error message in the KB, there are a few tips there about this error, you may try those ones.
If not, I would suggest to open another thread here in the forum, and tell us which OS, app and Nw versions you're using.
thanks for the answer! I moved the cluster groups to the second node, and I will check what happens tonight. If the first node have a missconfigured NIC or another malfunction the backup should work on the other machine. Step by step ...
You could also check with netstat or system logs (depending on OS) for any drops. I must say that in the past I have seen may messages like that in XBSA even backups would run fine so unless there is really a failure you could probably ignore it. Btw, what module is that - build 148 sounds as something old.
