1. to intially access the switch you will need to connect to it using a console cable and hyperterminal, you will then need to configure the switch with an ip address.

2. no, the 3348 is a layer2 switch, it does not perform any routing or NAT meaning you cannot directly connect this device and access the web. You will have to connect your linksys router into the 33xx and configure the switches default gateway to point to your linksys device.

4. you cannot do this with the 33xx, what you are describing is port forwarding and this must remain on your linksys.

5. Is their a simpler way. I want a 48 port switch where I can directly plug my internet connection in and directly manage everything from one console. EX port forwarding, DHCP and staic IP assignments etc. Can you suggest a model of dell that does all this and has 48 ports?
