VLAN setup on 6024/3324

Hello everyone.

I am new here, and I have some problems with VLAN network configuration.

I have Dell 6024F and 3324 devices.

I have read this article: www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/pwcnt/en/app_note_38.pdf

and I successfully set up described configuration without DHCP server.

But I don't really understand what was this for:

page 4:

4. Define routes to each network.
Dell-6024(config)# ip route 10.10.0.0 255.255.255.0 10.10.0.2
Dell-6024(config)# ip route 10.20.0.0 255.255.255.0 10.20.0.2

and where did they get those gateways IPs? (i.e. 10.10.0.2 and 10.20.0.2)

I mean, do I really need them even if my 3324s are directly connected to 6024F?

Maybe it's a stupid question, sorry.

I am confused.

Also I can't understand, this DHCP server is used for automatic assignment of IPs for clients, right?

Ok, my DHCP server works now.

Can someone help me with routes?

Those 2 lines are not necessary.  You can delete them.

If you are still having problems, post your configuration and more information on your issue.

    Oh, thank you.

I have the same configuration as described in this app_note_38 paper with minor differences.

It seems that  everything works just fine now.

Mmm. Could you please tell me, where I can find some information related to Dell 3324 DHCP/RADIUS authentication?

    Could not find any.
