i have a dell vostro 460 no fire wire, now need it. which card do i buy and are they easy to fit? i have seen the ieee1394a optiplex 990 card is this compatible? with my p.c., thanks,
You can purchase the FireWire 2-Port PCI Express Adapter from SIIG listed in the following link: http://dell.to/RqfSsm
You will have to connect the card to one of the PCI Express x1 slots. Vostro 460 motherboard has 3 PCI Express x1 slots. These slots are numbered 9 in the picture of the motherboard provided below:
IEEE 1394a OptiPlex 990 card is not compatible with Vostro 460. Please reply to the message if you need further information.
