Laptops dropping wired connections?
I manage a teaching lab filled with Inspiron 7737 laptops. Since the Windows 10 Anniversary update, it seems that random machines intermittently drop the wired connection to the internet.
It is not always the same machines that show the problem, and 9 times out of 10 merely disconnecting and reconnecting the ethernet cable brings it back online. The laptops never had this problem while loaded with Windows 8. I'm almost certain this never happened while they were on the original release of Windows 10. I'm pretty sure it has only been happening since the Anniversary update, so I'm thinking something changed in the network settings. I looked at the Realtek driver as well, but it has not changed since October 2015 so I don't think that is the problem.
This problem doesn't occur in another teaching lab filled with Optiplex desktops either, only on these laptops.
Any suggestions on how to correct this?
