Does anybody know how to get a network driver for Latitude D505 that works with RIS? The new Intel Pro 100/VE card has the same problem with RIS as the Optiplex GX 270 did. Dell supplied a driver that worked after i while, i hope you(Dell) can do that again, or tell me how to get the existing driver to work with RIS.
If anybody else have an answer, i'll be very happy for it.
Hmm we had issues similar to this with an old Toshiba laptop we were imaging (I think that was an intel 100VE NIC too) and managed to get around it with a download from the intel site.
Well, this happens. After booting with NIC and logging on the RIS server, i try to start an unattended installation. Before any copying of files is done, it stops with an error message saying it cannot find any appropriate network driver. Iv'e copied the network driver into the i386 image catalog as i've done with earlier models. Last time i had trouble with this(Optiplex Gx270), Dell supplied a new *.inf driver file, then it worked fine. The networkcard on the D505 model is a Intel Pro 100/Ve card, that i have no previous experience with.
Ok I'm still having the problem. I have already done all the usual things, (as you need to do this to support the GX60 which has the PRO100 card) I can RIS the GX60 and GX270 fine using Intels drivers and the special inf file, but the D505 is still causing problems
Thanks for the tip MrRouse, together with the latest e100bnt5(Pro2XP.exe ver 8.3.1)files from Intel it worked great. I copied the the files to the i386 catalog, and copied the RIS compatible e100bnt5.inf over the existing e100bnt5.inf file.

We have just ordered some D505's with the hope of being able to use RIS to install all of them - what seems to be the issue with the NIC driver?
