poor connection

I just purchased an Inspiron 1300 with a Wireless 1370 WLAN Mini-PCI Card, it connect to internet but very poor connection. my inspiron 6000 connects to usr9110 with 48 or 54 mb but at the same range 1300 connects with 5 or 11. how can it be?

    Does it happen with other networks too?
    If it doens't then, c heck for a newer firmware for the router.
    Some new cards may not perform optimally if the firmware is old on the router.
     
     
    Some settings that you can change on the card:
     
    Go to Device Manager.
    Right click on the card (Under Network Adapters) and choose 'Properties'.
    Go to 'Advanced' tab.
    Power Save Mode - Disabled
    Minimum Power Consumption - Disabled
