Problem with Netgear WG511 adapter

Hi,

I have an Inspiron 8100, with a new install of XP Pro. I purchased a Netgear WG511 wireless card, and installed it. The laptop crashed with a BSOD with the following error:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

****  STOP: 0x000000D1 (0X00000060, 0X00000002, 0X00000000, 0XEFE6DABE)

*** AWINDIS5.SYS - Address EFE6DABE base at EFE6C000, Datestamp 3cb55ad1

Each time the computer starts, with the card in place, it crashes with the same error - as soon as I remove the card, the laptop boots without problem

I have contacted Netgear support, they are unable to help with this, other than tell me it's an IRQ problem, and that one will need to be set manually. I have tried disabling (in device manager) pretty much everything that I can get away with, to no avail.

Any ideas?

I have a Lattitude L400 - the card installs and works without a problem.
