Have you tried Spybot Search and Destroy and Ad-Aware (both free and readily available on the internet)?

You have spyware and need something to clean up your computer.  Check out the already mentioned Spybot, Adware, and other commercial tools.  I run at least 2 to 3 of these at all times (I do use the MS version, too... sorry).  There are so many websites that will hyjack you computer and you need to be proactive going forward once you have cleaned up your computer.  Also, remember, that some simple applications contain spyware (i.e. photo viewing software from some film developing companies, etc.).  You have to really think about what you are going to install.  My last and biggest recommendation is to be sure to have a backup (do it once a week) that you go to in case your computer is hosed.  I do not enjoy spending hours and hours of my time fixing something like this, so I believe a week's worth of data is okay to loose for the hours of my time that would be lost in some situations.  I wish you the best.
