Go to the Device Manager - Network Adapters - then the adapter of interest - double click it, then the Driver tab, Driver info button, the version will be there. Do it for both. As for WPA, you need the latest wireless driver, your wireless receiver (AP or router) needs the latest firmware (providing it supports WPA), and you need the Microsoft Windows WPA patch from their support site. Then you have to let Windows handle your wireless connections.
I have all these. I know for sure that the AP I use Asus WL-500g works with WPA-PSK, even with AES. I have both WinXP updates. I have the latest driver for TrueMobile 1300 (A08) Or at least I installed it.
It sayys it's the latest version, but the date of the driver is 13.6.2003 - that's why I am a bit confused because the download page specifies another date for A08.
Still no communication in WPA-PSK. Again, WEP128 works OK here. Only problem with WPA.
The problem is that notebook would not recieve any packets. It say connected, and sends packets but nothing recieved.
I tried uninstalling TrueMobile utility, and still i have the same - It is connected, it sends a bunch of packets but recieves none.
I start suspecting that maybe there is something wrong with this "use 802.x authentication" thingy. It can not be turned off for WPA-PSK, and I have no idea what it does and why I need it. I am not aware that I have any "smart cards or certificates". I am quite sure I dont. Maybe that's the problem?
