Wireless signal indicator missing

My wireless signal indicator that use to be in the system tray is no longer there. I have gone to the dell wireless control center and checked the box to show connection but that makes no difference checked or unchecked any ideas on where it went and how to get it back.

This forum doesn't provide model computer and operating system you are running and neither did your post. This info helps troubleshoot your problem.

The wireless icon in the system tray( green reception bars)is part of the Windows wireless utility. You mentioned clicking something in the Dell wireless utility? If you enable one utility, the computer makes it the default utility and disables the other.

Click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services. Look for the Wireless Zero Configuration listing? Is it started or stopped?

If it is stopped, then the Dell Wireless Utility is the default utility and you will need to edit the registry to make the Windows utility the default utility, again.

This is simple, but it's worth a shot if you haven't tried it:

Right-click on your taskbar -> Properties -> Customize
Make sure you have it set to show the signal indicator.
