Do you have any security settings enabled on the router (MAC address filtering, WEP or WPA encryption)?  If so, have you made the settings on the wireless connection on your M170 and router consistent with each other?

No wireless security. I've left the network on unsecure, The Dell XPS Wireless Network Status lists it as "connected" with an "excellant" signal strength and lists:
Address Type Assigned by DHCP
IP Address 10.0.1.4
Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 10.0.1.1
It also lists Windows does not detect a problem with the connection, However I did click repair still with all the same results. Thanks for the help.

What client software is managing the connection? Have you tried (Advanced) switching to let Windows manage?

Not sure what software would be managing the account? Would it be the Apple Base Station allowing the Windows connectivity? Where would I switch Windows to Manage (Advanced)? Thanks for the Help

What I call the "tray" is the bottom line of the display screen, toward the right-hand side. When I hover over a tiny icon there which shows radiating broadcast waves and use the RIGHT mouse button it gives the option "Show Available Wireless Networks"
When I look at that display and then select some SSID, eventually I can find a link that says "Change advanced settings" and when I select that link, I can find a check-box which says "Let Windows manage" etc.

Forgot to mention the hourglass that toggled on and off was a Google Toolbar .exe found when searching processes .I uninstalled Google Toolbars yet file still remained toggling on and off the hourglass so I searched the file names and deleted them now all is fine the files were GTB.exe or GTB2.exe.
