N2248X-ON - EVPN Support with SONIC Edge Bundle?
Hi all,
we have some N2248X-ON switches, currently running with Dell OS6. This switch is using the following ASIC based on this PDF:
https://www.broadcom.com/products/ethernet-connectivity/switching/strataxgs/bcm56170
In the N2200 specsheet, wie found the following information:
VXLAN-Lite support in hardware only (can be used if
enabled by Open Networking (ON) partner network
operating system)
First question: What is VXLAN-Lite?
Second: Is EVPN-VXLAN supported on these switches if we install an Open Network OS with EVPN support? Like Dell Enterprise SONIC Edge bundle?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for reply.
Are you sure that your list is complete or that this document is up to date? Because N3248PXE-ON is also supported and we have some of these running with SONIC.
And what is "VXLAN-Lite"?

Hello Manuel,
Enterprise SONiC Distribution by Dell Technologies User Guide Release 4.1.0
page 11-12 supported switches
N2248X-ON is not supported.
Open OS means - Other vendor OS can be put on Dell hardware.
So this means that on Dell hardware N22xx series, if there is any other vendor OS, they can make use of VxLAN-Lite.
