Optiplex 7000 (SFF) - Wifi antenna

Hello Dell Community !

I recently purchased a refurbished Optiplex 7000 (Small Form Factor) that did not include any Wifi capability.

I purchased a M2 WLan card (Intel AX211) as recommended in Dell's documentation but this module does not include any antenna. I would like to purchase an external Wifi antenna but I don't know what product I should buy (I did reach out to Dell Sales but could not get an answer).

It looks like I need to purchase a kit (cables) that connect from the M2 Wlan card to the chassis (SMA port) and then purchase the external Wifi antenna that will connect to the SMA ports.

Any recommendation on what to purchase ?

Thanks for the help !

@redxps630 by Amy chance do you have the part number for the antenna for a optiplex 7000 mt? Is the same part number that the internal antenna? Look similar to the one in the service manual… thanks!

7000mt chassis back does not have external antenna slots for whip antenna (optional) like 7000sff. the mt uses antenna attached to chassis front.  here is DP/N.  Note D12 in part description for Dell’s newest desktop chassis generation.

    KIT,RCVR,ANT,INT,W/BRKT,D12,MT.

    Hello,

can you please tell me if these solutions are compatible with the OptiPlex 5000 SFF, too? I have an OptiPlex 7000 SFF and two 5000 SFF.

solution is for 7000 and 5000 SFF.  these models are almost the same with the exception that 7000 has higher spec.

Thank you very much for the quick answer! Now I just have to find a dealer who can supply these (internal) antennas. The item you linked from Amazon is unfortunately no longer available and I can't find an alternative to it offhand.
