Hi All,

Here's what's been going on:

The power went out in the office and unfortunately stayed off. The UPS ran out of juice, and the server subsequently shut down. (I am assuming that this was a hard shutdown...the UPS auto-shutdown feature wasn't working, but that's another problem). So now, when the power button is pushed, several "clicks" are heard, the HDD indicator light blinks rapidly, the power indicator light is solid, and then it shuts off. The server stays on for no more than 10 seconds.

I have not been able to see/hear this problem first hand because I am out of town. I am guessing that this is a power supply problem or a fan failure of some sort. Is there a safety feature that will shut down the server if it detects a fan failure?

Has anyone had this same problem? Any ideas that I might be able to look into?
